Selling half a newsletter blast???

Postby mmelen on Thu Jan 03, 2008 11:34 pm

I have a small problem.
When I started building my newsletter I sold at these rates:
When I had 100 members, $2.
When I had 1000 members, $8.
When I had 4000 members, $30.

Now I have 15,000 members and I have trouble selling my proxy newsletter for $45.
Any reason?

I mean I don't mind promoting my own proxies... I get good money from that and more than $45 in the course of a month; but i just don't understand.
Tell you the truth I'm a little tired of setting up dozens of proxies; i'd rather lose a couple of bucks and just sell the newsletter blast.

Anything I can do better to promote the newsletter and its effectiveness?

Should I sell blasts to only half the members, maybe that'll be better? ;)

I think you have crossed that critical price point where, regardless of the amount of subscribers, proxy owners just are not going to cough up that much cash in one go.

Maybe now you should consider sending 2 or 3 proxies per email and reduce the price per listing.

$45 would be good if you give 1 proxy per email or 7 proxies in daily emails for 1 yr. You may loose out customers because some people at digitalpoint forum sell them for cheap.

But here advantage is less no. of customers won't be a prob as u get $45 per each of them same as $10*4 from 4 customers...

I guess I can always sell spots...

1. $20
2. $15
3. $10
etc... for each email; it's just a lot more tedious then having just 1 sale per day.

Selling spots would be good as it's cheaper than $45.00. Personally, I think $45.00 is too much. Lower the price to something reasonable, more people will buy, the word will spread fast, and you will make more - my two cents.

$45 is a lot. I know I havent payed $45 yet for advertising at one time. By looking at your past price scheme, it looks like you might be able to sell two spots, each at $30. Do you think this could be done? You would be making 33% more then you initially requested by just adding another spot.

You can always try auctioning your spots. Start with a low price like $15 with $5 increments and a $45 BIN. This way you don't have to do much work, still only sell 1 spot per day, still possibly sell for $45 but at least make something if you don't.
