I am going to list a few of my favorite SEO techniques, and hopefully others can chime in and add ones I missed.

- Writing keyword rich articles and submitting them to numerous places as well as on your own website
- Using bold, italics, and underline
- Keeping your main keywords towards the beginning of your title
- Standard meta tags
- W3C compliant and verified
- Using h1 tags
- Using specific anchor text on my links
- alt tags for images

Mine are

proper meta tags according to what search engines like especially the length
keyword rich content
proper link structure (so that all inner pages are well linked)
buil links from directories, my other sites/blogs

Ahh yes, I forgot about submitting to directories. This usually gets me an easy PR of 1-3 fairly quick. Some more:

- Adding a blog so I always have new content
- Google Sitemap
- Optimize robots.txt file
- Different title on every page that is very descriptive

As you can see, I think SEO is one of the, if not the most important part of your website and will most likely be the difference between an ok website and a popular and successful website. I went ahead and found a few sources of tips, hints and guides:

I find having unique content with lots of keywords helps. I also find adding to directories easily helps get your website going. There were also a few here I will try as I was unaware of them.

i don't have specific one since all has been listed by other members. I try to use different techniques in my upcoming website, it's good to give a try and experiment each techniques to improved your site.

That unique technique. A lot technique you guy listed. Did anybody can tell which the better?

have you guys tried to pay for directory submission?
Or doing it yourself?

I have tried submitting to directory but some directories are not accepting proxy site.
Is that guaranteed we will get backlinks from them?
