Does anyone use Digg anymore?

Postby Mission Environment on Fri Jan 04, 2008 6:35 pm

I know a year ago it was the hottest way to promote your site, and if you got "dugg" you experienced a nice bump in traffic and revenue. I know I am still constantly staying on digg by adding their little buttons on my blog and articles. Does anyone else?

I posted my blog and my proxy on it. The blog hasn't gotten any notice at all but my proxy has gotten some traffic.

I thing Digg is only good for interesting concepts... a regular proxy wouldn't be one of them.
so unless you have a method to get 100 diggs (to be listed) or so... then don't even bother.

I guess youre right. It seems to work well with my blog though.

Is there a time frame for you to get the 100 diggs? If not, I guess it would probably be worth it to just put it on your front page just to try and get the diggs eventually, because all it will take is once and you should have a nice bump in traffic.

I still dont fully understand stumbleupon. After a quick glance, it looks similar to digg. Someone please explain this. Or should we create a new thread?

I find Digg near useless for standard sites. I got very little traffic for my proxies from Digg and near next to none for my arcade and BANS site. I think you need something different and specific for Digg to work for you and not cookie cutter sites

Yeah I agree. But blogs and article sites should fare well, dont you think? They are unique, and some could provide interesting information. I never really figured out how to master digg yet, but I feel that is the place to begin with. Unless you have some crazy funny website fad such as cartoon videos or something....jibjab comes to mind.
